After the publication of a mildly successful novel, Hugh Culik found himself teaching literature, composition, and digital studies at the University of Detroit Mercy. He eventually became Chair of English, Director of Writing Across the Curriculum, and as co-founder and editor of Post Identity. At the same time, working with the Grosse Pointe Public Schools, he re-invented the pedagogy and curriculum of the university’s digital studies program for its newly created Community School. He now works alongside his friend and mentor Chris Gilliard at Macomb Community College.
