Personally, I am a mom and wife who enjoys Zumba, running, and taking walks with my preschool-aged daughter. In my personal time I work on projects around our ranch style home, travel (usually to see family and friends around the United States, but previously around the world), and I am constantly in search of local pre-school options for students in alternative education settings in my community.
Professionally, I am a Leading Edge Certified Teacher, working at a public online school in Temecula, CA. Previously, I was a high school English Teacher at Great Oak High School (also in Temecula) and a part of the districtwide Technology Committee. I now have opportunity to work closely with our district's English and Independent Study teachers in alternative education, usually by helping to streamline assignments by suggesting technology pieces that will encourage success in our non-traditional students. I also consistently work on developing English/Language Arts curriculum and assessments (both tech-based and not) at the district and site levels.
In the future, I look forward to my career veering more into curriculum and instruction. Ultimately, I would like to see myself in a position which allows for the implementation of a farther-reaching innovative instructive and curricular implementation.
