My Take

An ok app that could be used to prompt those students who have a difficult time coming up with story ideas. I like the better words portion of the app, it's a thesaurus where children can find alternative words for the common ones they tend to use in their writing. This app would be fun for oral whole group storytelling, where the teacher can maintain focus on the story part as I found my kids got lost exploring in the app.

How I Use It

An interesting app that offers writing ideas for stories. You can select situation, main character, setting and object then students can write a story based on those ideas. This is a good writing station app for those students who have a difficult time coming up with ideas for stories. You can select different ideas for each so your story can become quite funny, reminds me of the mad libs activities I have used in the past. Students were engaged and enjoyed exploring the ideas in the app, but needed direction to start writing, students can get lost in reading all the ideas in the app.
