It is wonderful to finally have a math tool that is equal to our tools we provide students in literacy development. Students are able to work from their grade level or start on a Kindergarten level to work their way up. Symphony Math helps build students' number sense and fill in any gaps within their learning. It is a great tool for teachers to differentiate with, especially with students who are below grade level. It can offer challenge and enrichment if a student is in grades K-4, however, grade 5 students will not be able to surpass their own grade level within the program. The checkpoints are awesome because they allow students to transfer their knowledge from digital to paper. There are a lot of supports provided within the program, where students can ask for help and receive hints. The best part about this feature is when you are on the teacher platform students will show up as GREEN (meaning they independently mastered the content) as long as they do not ask for help/hints. Students who ask for help and provide the correct answer will show up as YELLOW and incorrect answers with or without help will show up as RED. There are great printable options for teachers to share information with parents about student progress. Overall, Symphony Math is a great tool for both teachers and their students to develop number sense, fill learning gaps, and report out on student progress in regards to grade level math content.
