My Take

My overall opinion is that this is an excellent supplement to the core math curriculum. It is very challenging, and students need to be taught how to think, which this program does. I like the wide array of motivational techniques and tools, and the opportunity for students to track their own progress toward their goals. Also, the data provided to the teacher is exceptional.

On the other hand, some of the instructional screens are a little wordy. The students see all those words, and sometimes paragraphs, on one page and they decide it is too much and choose to skim it, which is not effective. The content is too involved to be skimmed. Reading it quickly instead of carefully decreases student comprehension.

How I Use It

This product is used as a supplement to my core math curriculum in fifth grade. We use it 3 to 4 times a week for 45 minutes. The challenging program teaches fifth grade NexGen standards in depth, and encourages critical thinking. It is motivating and appealing to the students.

However, as a full time curriculum, which is only offered for fifth grade, it requires too much time online per day. Students get tired, and the teacher is not delivering the core math content.
