My Take

ReadWriteThink is a free website that offers a wealth of information, resources and lessons plans. It is easy to navigate and allows users to search by key word, or criteria, and can be refined in order to hone in on what you are looking for. There are sections for classroom, after school and parental resources, as well as for videos and professional development. The printouts that are available are high quality and relevant. There is even a section for educators that would like to contribute to ReadWriteThink, by writing and reviewing resources. Overall, I would recommend this site for both those in need of quick assistance, and those that are planning further out and are in need of quality material.

How I Use It

In the past I have used ReadWriteThink primarily for the printouts and lesson plans that are available, and I have always been impressed with the quality. I have found them easy to access and my students have enjoyed most of what I have presented. In the future, I look forward to implementing the newly created videos tab, while further investigating the professional development opportunities that are offered. As a side note, I would also like to start to utilize the afterschool resources with my own children. They appear to be very engaging and well vetted.
