My Take
ReadWorks is a great online tool for reading comprehension resources. It has a great variety of leveled high interest fiction and nonfiction articles. I love the question sets that are featured with some articles. This could be improved by adding reading passages based on current events. Overall, this is a great resource for educators!
How I Use It
I have used ReadWorks passages to deepen understanding of science and social studies content. I have used them whole group, as well as in small groups and in centers. Leveled passages help meet students' individual needs. I love the multiple choice and open ended questions to check for understanding. I've also used the paired passages which are wonderful for to prepare students for standardized testing in reading.
