My Take

I have a self-contained special education classroom with 6-8th graders who have moderate disabilities. Although some of the activities are age-inappropriate for my students, we are able to use a variety of different activities on the site to practice our literacy and mathematics skills.

How I Use It

I use PBS kids on our classroom TapIt and overhead during group instruction and on the iPads during our "lab" time. My kids enjoy using the different activities (particularly Dinosaur Train and SuperWhy) to reinforce instruction. My own children (ages 2 & 4) enjoy using our personal tablet to play different games (Curious George, SuperWhy and Dinosaur Train). I see improvement in their ability to show 1:1 correspondence, patterning and literacy skills. They are engaged, entertained and clearly learning!
