Community Review for MyScript Calculator
My Take
I like this app as it takes guess work out of equations/numbers on paper. Screen caps allow students to submit answers to CMS'. Students like the magic of handwriting transforming to print before their eyes.
Very happy that e auto-calculate function can be turned off so students still have to solve the problem before checking their work.
How I Use It
You can write a function/equation that displays on the board or at a desk.
Occasionally, you may find that MyScript Calculator will interpret handwriting incorrectly, but this improves with practice.

Fun, easy-to-use calculator
I wouldn't necessarily call this a teaching tool. The kids like to use this calculator, so it kind of gets them excited in that regard.

Easy, interactive way for students to solve equations!
MyScript Calculator is a great interactive app that is an easy way to incorporate technology into the classroom. Students are able to use this app very easily because of the tutorial provided when first using the app. Students really enjoy using their fingers to write out equations and watch their handwritten equations turn into a digital form. However, this app is can only be used as a calculator. It does not enhance the students learning of how to solve different equations.

A calculator you can write calculations on, and the app translates your handwrting into a typed response and provides an answer.
While this app is fun for the students, some will bypass the assignment all together and just type in the calculations and write down the answers. This will only truly work well for someone who is checking previously done mental work.
