My students absolutely love creating their own personal narratives and poetry using Mystorybook. This innovative technology tool is one way for kids to express themselves and share with others. We love seeing our illustrations come to life!

I really like the My Story app for storytelling and creative expression. The app has changed significantly since the original Graphite review and looks nothing like the pictures posted with the review - it is so much better and very user friendly. I downloaded it when it was on sale for free, but it is worth the full price. One of the best features is the ease of sharing. My Story will host the book on their server so you can share it with a link and view it in a browser. You can also share it via social media or open it in iBooks. Our school is 1:1 iPads, but you can have multiple authors creating books on the same iPad, which is great for classrooms where students share devices. I have used several different storytelling and book creation apps and this is one of the best, especially for elementary students.

I think this tool is great for beginning writers, ELL and special needs students. Getting them to write anything can be difficult, but putting a tool in their hands that allows creativity and fun, just makes it easier. I think it is elementary, but it is a good place to start for many.

This program could be a great teaching tool because students would become very involved in the writing process. My students love using technology so I believe they will be more engaged and interested using this program. It could be used for advanced learners as well as low learners or those that just don't have very good handwriting.
