Fun Technology & Learning All in One!
Community Review for Mozilla Popcorn Maker
My Take
When it comes to technology, Mozilla Popcorn Maker is a fun, easy tool to learn that puts the "wow" in a project. It allows students to show their creative side without using a complicated tool. Although it looks like it would take a long time to learn, Mozilla offers a great tour of the technology when you log in and also has a good help feature. When a project is completed it can be easily embedded into a course or shared with a link. Popcorn Maker not only has a fun name but it is also a fun tool to use in class that will allow teachers to show how technology can be fun to use while being creative.
How I Use It
Mozilla’s Popcorn Maker takes a web video and adds the ability to incorporate interactive maps, live twitter feeds, images, links, popups and more. Web Videos or audio can be uploaded from any of the big video streaming services, Youtube, Vimeo or Soundcloud. You can add one or more media clips to a project and it has great feature that allows you to add timed ‘events’ to a timeline. The events are callouts that can be a map, a link to an article,or a popup. Popcorn Maker can be assigned as a individual or group project and really is a fun technology tool to use that can help make any project look really cool!
