My Take

Overall, this is a great app to use for students to let their creativity run wild while providing some ideas for where to start. Its' user-friendly design allows any student to create a work of art. The artwork can be saved to the camera roll, tweeted, emailed, or shared with MoMA. The sharing features can be turned off by default, but turned on through the iPad settings. I do wish that by default you could save to the camera roll only - but, it's all or nothing in regards to the sharing.

How I Use It

I plan to use this app in Middle School Art class as an "adapted" activity for special needs students. The app has a lot to offer, including ideas for activities inside the app. These activity ideas can be listened to, or read, which supports different types of learners. The area where you create the artwork has a very simple design and is easy to use, especially for low-level learners.

Great app to gradually release young students to using iPad to independently think and create

Another simple, elegant app - if a Kindergartner can figure out how to use it and produce quality pieces to share or app smash with other apps, zip think it is a winner. WORKED: easy to use, whiteboard, simple art, simple text features, student were quickly independent, kept their interest, range of ability found it engaging, bonus is that it includes information on various genres of at and artists. CHALLENGES: Created art was not easy to use with other apps, children had to go through process of screen captures then cropping to use them in other projects, I.e. book creator or in their Seesaw learning journals

Art support!

I like this app and think it would allow students the chance to work on their creativity. I like that you can have the directions read out loud to you. This app gives students the chance to create their own art or create something like one of the artists they have listed. One thing I really like is that there are a number of special education students who thrive in the area of art and this would be a great app to have them utilize. Some strive with technology and this would allow them to use technology and incorporate art at the small time.
