My Take

InfuseLearning is great for empowering teachers with a quick and easy way to assess the learning of all kinds of students. For quick surveys, teachers can use the Quick Assessments to ask a variety of question types: open-ended, numeric, draw, and even likert scale. Student responses show up on a teacher dashboard where he or she can choose to display results for discussion or keep them private. Teachers can save and share the assessments and quiz results. As an added bonus for ELLs and other special needs, students can choose the language they understand and/or have the questions recited when they click on the icon. If your campus is 1-to-1 or you are in a Bring Your Own Device learning environment, this is the perfect tool for you!

How I Use It

I use it in professional development with teachers when I'm facilitating Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) training. I have teachers respond to questions, tap on web addresses using the InfuseLink feature, and I have them annotate over images using the InfuseDraw. I also have them respond to questions at the end to check for understanding with a quiz that I prepared ahead of time. Most times the application works perfectly; however, one time I started a class and gave my participants my room number and they were not able to get in. That has only happened once and on that day it may have been a user error. Still, practice with your mobile device to test those kinds of things without students so you can catch them early.
