My Take

Using Google Scholar (especially when searching by date) allows students to see the ongoing conversation they are entering when writing a response to an issue. I like that it sparked thinking and helped students to see several current perspectives on an issue. An option to only search available full text / abstracts would be helpful to those without access to a university library.

How I Use It

Students use Google Scholar as a way to get past the vast pool of 'hits' from a general Google search. Students appreciate that they don't have to do quite as much work verifying a website's credibility. Frustration may set in as students realize they don't have access to all of the articles/books.
