Authentic collaboration for both students and teachers
Community Review for Google Drive
My Take
I believe that Google Drive provides students with the most authentic experiences to prepare them for the future. Cloud storage and shared documents are taking off in many fields and offering students a place to collaborate on one document or presentation gives them experiences they can use in the future. The only issue I have with it is that due to the user requirements for a Goggle account, my district requires me to create any of the documents used and students to be anonymous.
How I Use It
I love using Google Docs on the drive to offer students an area to collaborate in writing without having to rely on students to send drafts of documents via e-mail. I've used this for Digital Writing Roulette, for students create their own lesson plans, and with other teachers to collaborate as we share PD sessions.
