My Take

It's a good to use to create the finished product with a good amount of support from in class instruction. It can be glitchy as the videos get larger and I would like if the students could share a community library of characters and props to ease with collaborative work but they cannot.

How I Use It

I use this as a transition from instruction of art software to using images in animation for the purpose of digital storytelling. It allows the students to understand the basics of setting up an animation using an existing library available within the website. In some cases, though the library is vast, the students needs to think "outside the box" when recreating their stories. They had to manipulate an item to look like another item that wasn't available. They do a lot of updating which is both good and bad. Different things the site did offer suddenly are no longer available. Like they was a short tutorial that was required at the start of your first animation doesn't seem to be available. The cost is inexpensive for a class license which allows the students to share their videos with each other once the instructor moderates it.
