My Take
This is a good site for creative usage. The free version only allows for 30 second videos, but it is worth getting a subscription and being able to use all the canned backgrounds - lots of variety. Multiple accounts can be created with the teacher login. Takes a while to set up, but fun later. Needs a good internet connection to upload pictures and to download the video.
How I Use It
I show a variety of ways to create digital memories. Animoto has the backgrounds and transitions, the student supplies the pictures and text. The students put in what level of use they want. - lots of pictures and text, or just a little. Animations are there regardless.

Easy to use and great for visualizations
The product is amazing, as it is extremely easy for students to use. The results are those of professional videos without the extensive need for software and video editing skills.

Simple Platform with various customization
The pricing is a bit steep for the limited features offered in the free version. The lack of customization options for fonts and layouts is another drawback but the ability to upload videos to various platforms like YouTube and Vimeo and share them to students or colleagues is dynamic
