This app is a REAL DEAL for students to learn the REAL movie making!

I think the app has given students opportunity to collaborate and create their own learning stories. The app has made them combining their takes in some lessons.

Great tool to get students interested in presentations!

I liked this tool but once again I stress that the pedagogy has to be there first. It's very easy to have students fall into the trap of the tech first because of all this app's bells and whistles but if executed correctly, this app can really up the engagement factor in the classroom. While my students were using the app there was a buzz in the classroom!!! I saw them applying what they had learned and talking through their scripts to make sure the information they were giving was valid.

A Whole New World Right Before Their Eyes

After seeing how engaged the students were using this app my mind began to spin with new ideas on how to integrate it into the classroom. I can see this app being used to help the students apply what they have learned in the classroom and reteach it to another group of students. I like the ease of the application. It was so easy for the students to use and they did not get frustrated using it. If used right you can increase the rigor of a lesson, by having a green screen center. The students could create their own green screen on any topic they are learning to show you that they understand.

Students get Creative Across the Curriculum

This is a must-have app to add to your creativity tool box. In any subject area there is a great application for its use. It is extremely easy to use for kindergarten students and up. Because they can use this app independently, the technology does not get in the way of the content, which is important, especially in an elementary classroom. There are some limitations the app has that using green screen in iMovie on the computer does not. For instance, you can add more than one picture or video as the background, but you cannot add it after you record, so you have to guess at the timing of the pictures in the background. There are some more robust and advanced settings in iMovie (on a computer only), but in the elementary classroom, we have found the advanced features are not worth trading the simplicity of using this app. Even if you have computers with iMovie, this app is still worth purchasing and using. There are far less steps needed to create a great movie with any background that you can imagine!

Easy Intro to Green Screen Video Production

The description makes it seem like you can use ANY background, remove it, then add another layer and it works. However, I've found that investing a few dollars for an actual green fabric (got mine for $5 at a fabric store) makes the video layer much easier to remove. There are three layers available: 1) video with green screen 2) image/background layer 3) extra layer to add animations. Once you have these basic concepts down, and are able to remove the background of the video (use the Chroma Tool), putting together a professional looking presentation is a breeze!

Easy to use Green Screen app that can bring learning to life!

This is a fantastic tool and it is very easy to use. I spent years thinking that Green Screen recording was complicated until a colleague showed me the DoInk app. It is straightforward, quick, and has multiple movie export options.

One of the Easiest Green Screen Apps out there!!!

This app is an app that I would recommend for anyone to use. It is a simple app that by just doing a little pre-teaching, the students were able to record each other and create their videos. There isn’t a lot that I don’t like about this app. It would be nice if it was free, but it is a low priced app. You do also need to have a green screen of some sort. I use a cheep green plastic tablecloth. Being able to see students in their own creation is very rewarding. They also feel a sense of pride because they had to come up with the script, images, editing, and final production. Having an easy to navigate app helps make the lesson run smoothly and the Green Screen App by Do Ink does that.

Great way to take your students to another place and time without leaving the classroom.

This is a great teaching tool that will enhance your videos and images. I like that it is fairly user friendly, it uploads directly to your camera roll on the iPad and then you can upload it into iMovie. It is straight forward which is important when working with students. I simply like it because it allows my students to put themselves into their work. Be warned that it is not a professional green screen so the finished product does not always look 100% amazing, but for a school project it works great.

Great Green Screen Tool that can be used by upper elementary students with little or no assistance

I love this app. I would like to use it more often with my kids for other things if I had access to iPads more often. The kids were so engaged in the process and they found it super easy to do on their own.

Do Ink is so easy to use and has such a great impact!

I love this tool because it is so easy to use. My students are usually in control of the videos and since I teach K-8, it's easy for students as young as 3rd grade to do the actual recording. Collecting images and videos on an ipad is also very simple using the basic camera roll feature. Do Ink accesses the camera roll so it's simple to change backgrounds on the fly. You actually don't even need a green background with the app. You can pick any color and adjust the app accordingly. This app gives students an opportunity to create videos to reflect their knowledge and be part of the learning experience. It also helps students learn how to work together, have different jobs and tasks and feel accomplished with a final product that takes minimal effort but has great impact.
