Data tracking, reteaching, assessing where your students are and how well they a grasping the concepts you are teaching them...Tenmarks is the resource for you.

I really love using tenmarks.com. It is very easy to create assignments and navigate through the website. I like that you can see how the students answered and you can reassigned the same standard if they did not do well on it. I think that tenmarks can be used a great reteaching tool. When students are not doing well on a specific skill/concept, you can use the data to create small groups. A student can also use hints to watch videos when they are struggling on a standard. I also like that you can communicate with parents and print out reports. Finally, I like the fact that it provides a diversity of questions. I think the questions can assist teachers by helping them come up with different ways to teach a skill/concept.

Trouble for students as they cannot access math content through grammar errors and dense language.

It was touted as the best aligned math support. Sadly as the questions became more and more difficult to tackle, I looked more deeply at the questions and realized that within the depth of language required for students to attack the math questions, they worded many of their answers grammatically incorrect! How horrible. So, to add insult to injury, we are trying desperately to align to the PARCC test and implement this program, yet, we have not forced them to use proper grammar such as definite and indefinite articles so students can properly chose an answer, which is imperative in the math choices. There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between "a" and "the" when you are deciding which variable would fit in to solve an equation, especially when the question asks the student to select all the answers that apply. Happily, we agreed to reject this program after a year in our program. While at first glance, this program may seem to have all the bells and whistles, I would look more closely. they have also closed the parent portal effective October 2016. So far, Khan Academy still continues to outshine, from both the teacher report and parent interaction portals. I think the key is to review, review, and review.

Great technology tool to keep students engaged!

Tenmarks was the greatest program I could have found! I can differentiate in so many ways just for a small group or individual, nevertheless, the whole class. I really like how they give students the opportunity to still have fun through playing games, but they need to collect coins to buy time to play those games. This extra push gave my students the motivation they needed to complete the practice they had.

Good for homework practice

One of the nice things about TenMarks is how relatively easy it is to implement for students working at home or school. There's a weekly report sent to teachers, so teachers can keep track of how the students doing on the topics. Besides, on the report, teachers can see how long the students spend time working on it. Thus, teachers know if the students are struggling on the topics. Teachers can re-assign it as an optional homework for better score. My students love this part. They love to improve from their old score. However, I would say TenMarks is for advanced level performance students because the questions sometimes are hard to understand for lower level students.

Boring dry drills, worst of paper drills brought to your computer

The kids found it boring. Multiple choice math questions meant that brighter kids could easily guess without doing math. Read the problem out loud feature was useful for younger kids, but vocabulary level was frequently too high, requiring lots of explanations. Overall, there are better tools out there for math drills.

Quick and easy way to provide additional practice!

I think this is a great tool that makes assigning practice in the classroom easy and quick. It's much better than taking the time to create standards based worksheets ourselves!

Solid and engaging self-paced math curriculum

I appreciate how TenMarks takes other programs (that also use video instructions/flipped learning) to another level. Students are able to watch/replay instructional videos and move through assignments at their own pace, and they are allowed an opportunity to correct errors (once). For my class, this means students are more likely to take their time before answering questions (not a normal practice in our room). Additionally, using TenMarks in station rotation allows me to work with students in small groups to target interventions or "go deeper". One issue I have with TenMarks is that I could only set up assignments through mid-July, although students wanted to use it through the entire summer break. There is an option for parents to set up summer content on TenMarks. I appreciate the ability to download letters for parents in their home language (spanish), but parents have also asked to be able to follow their child's progress in spanish as well.

Math CCSS Practice Aligned

I love this product. It is very easy to get started. Once you create an account, you can add your class and provide each student with a username and password. Once you have created your class, there are parent friendly letters you can print out to send home with the student. The website provides reports that show which CCSS my students know really well, need more help with, or are really struggling with. I use this data to create small intervention groups. In addition, if a student has difficulty solving problems, they are given three hints. Ten Marks is very valuable for classroom instruction. It is a great tool to use to assess your students understanding of each of the standards/concepts. For example, I have been focusing on the geometry standard of shapes and their attributes. After many lessons and activities I wanted to assess my students understanding. I assigned them the same geometry standard and was able to see their overall percentage correct on the questions. With the data, I am able to see which students have mastered the standard as well as which ones need more intervention support.

Great practice and progress monitoring tool but expensive.

I am a fan so far and the students are staying engaged. I can clearly see the improvement in the data. I would really like to try the premium version to see how complete of a package this site really is. My largest knock on the website is the organization of the teacher's end. I find it to be a pain in the neck to find a student's assignment because I have to remember if it is opened or closed or if I gave the assignment to multiple students or not. There are few dates on everything and the information is sometimes 3-4 clicks in. I also don't like the due date mechanic of the assignments. Giving a hard due date for me is useless but it is mandatory. The only other thing I wish was that I could see the students' assignments when they are complete. I know the site breaks down the results rather nicely but I would like to sometimes see what the specific questions they got right and wrong.

Simple math pratice tied to standards

I am not super excited about this product. The 'Jam Session' where students can work on anything doesn't have the hints or videos like the assigned work. When they get an answer wrong, it just says it is wrong and gives the right answer. I would like it to give the student another chance to fix it and then offer a hint or video. The assigned work does have the hints and videos which are great and does allow students to fix their mistakes. However, it doesn't tell them they got a question wrong until the end of the ten question segment. I would like it to tell them right away so they learn from that mistake before going forward. However, for a free (the basics that I use) product it is worth trying. The class roster is easy to set up and I really like having work assigned to standards. The reports are nice and you can assign individual work to students that need it. I could see my distinct wanting to look into the paid product so they could have the standard and grade level assessment that is modeled on SBAC and PARCC.
