1 Guided Practice and Partner Work

  1. Find a partner to work with if you would like, or have 2 tabs open on your browser.

  2. Partner A goes to the Google Spreadsheet you created with all the terms listed (the following link has an example): bit.ly/MACULVocab

  3. Partner B goes to www.google.com on tablet (or search app) or browser.

  4. Partner B types the following in the Google search box:

    1. Define: and the term (example: Define: blog)

  5. As a pair select the most “student friendly” definition.

    1. Partner A types the agreed upon definition into the "definition" cell for their term

    2. Press “Enter” when definition is done

  6. Repeat this procedure until all terms are defined.

  1. Now that the list is complete the class decides what the definitions should be-keeping in mind that the definition must match the context in which it is used. Go over each term on the LCD so the class can see and make sure everyone agrees with the definition. Edit where necessary.

  2. These are the definitions that I use for any assessments I make later on.

  3. I then remove editing privileges from the spreadsheet and print a copy for classroom studying.  These are always available on my Moodle, uploaded to Quizlet for them to review, as well as sharing a short url to get back to the created Google spreadsheet.
