1 Hook

The student will begin by watching a short video on Weather & Climate in Scholastic Study Jams.


We will discuss the vocabulary after the video and do the Test Yourself as a group.

30 minutes

2 Direct Instruction

 A weather man will visit our classroom and discuss weather maps. He will continue explaining weather to the students and answer any questions that may be asked.

After the weather man has finished the student will watch another video on weather instruments on Study Jams.


Again we will do the test as a group

2-45 minute

3 Guided Practice

This site will be shown to the students where they will independently work through the site's activities. This includes predicting the weather by playing a game and then taking a test.

4 Independent Practice

Activity: Creating

The students will research and have a choice of doing a PowerPoint on different aspect of weather or a hands on project to present to the class.This could be worked on at home using the ir 365 online PowerPoint.

The powerpoint presentation should be checked  with teacher so there are different aspects of weather presented.
