1 Hook/Attention getter

Activity: Exploring

A video will be shown and a worksheet with questions about the video will be given to the students to fill out while they are watching the video.  

The video is titled, "Age of Exploration"

Following the video, a class discussion will be held over the video and worksheet.

2 Guided Practice

Activity: Creating

Divide students into small groups.  Instruct them to do cooperative learning by creating a poster board over a subject or person from the video.

3 Independent Practice

Activity: Reading

Students will read a chapter from the text book.  

Exploration and the Colonial Era, from The Americans textbook.

4 Wrap Up

Using ChromeBooks, students will analyze the reading from the textbook and create a timeline of events using Google Drawings.
