1 Select Thematically Linked Text

1. Teacher models navigating Commonlit.org website

2. Students work in pairs, small groups, or independently to find a thematic topic and then question the whole class text answers

3. Students select a second text from commonlit.org, read and discuss (teacher may require specific genres. For example, if students are comparing to a whole class novel, teacher may request informational texts to compare)

4. Students determine how both texts answer the question and textual evidence for each

2 Use Creation Apps to compose analysis

5. Students are encouraged to use at least two creation apps to:

A. present question

B. explain how each text answers question

C. Provide textual evidence for the answers

D. explore the relationship between the two texts

6. Students save work in camera roll

3 Use Showcase App to Combine

7. Students combine videos from creation apps within a showcase app

8. Students upload apps to Google Drive

4 Evaluate Work

9. Students watch other groups' work in google drive

10. Students use Google Forms to rate, evaluate, and provide details about the effectiveness of evidence and explanation
