Tangram QR Codes
1 Hook/Attention Getter
As a whole class, students will sit on the carpet and review shapes (triangle, square, rectangle, and rhombus). They then will watch several shape videos on YouTube for review.
2 Direct Instruciton
The teacher will model what is expected of the students. First the teacher will pick a puzzle from the folder. Then she will use the Tangrams to complete the puzzle. When the puzzle is completed correctly she will scan the QR Code. The code will take her to a YouTube link where someone is reading the story that matches to the completed puzzle.
3 Guided Practice
The teacher will then place the students in pairs. They will each get a turn to pick a puzzle, complete it will the Tangrams, raise their hand to get the iPad, and then scan the QR code to listen to the story.
4 Independent Practice
Students then will be able to complete this activity independently during math centers.
Students then will complete an exit ticket using words or pictures to summarize one of the stories they listened to.
