1 Intro to take-away
Teacher will draw on the white board ___ circles. After that she will cross out ___circles. This will give students a visual representation of a subtraction problem. The teacher then explains what a subtraction problem is and writes out the problem that they just created with the circle. The teacher will do 3 more problems just like that and have the students answer them with them will they are crossing out the circles.
After the teach has finished demonstrating the student will draw their own picture representing the subtraction problem that the teacher has provided them with.
2 Subtraction Game
Explain that the students will go to the website and pick one of these games: "Ducky Subtraction", "Sailboat Subtraction", and "Math Monster Subtraction".
The students will play the game and if they finish early they can choose a different subtraction game.
