1 Strategic Researching

HOOK/ATTENTION GETTER: Slide 1: Ask the students about how  they use Google to search for information.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION: Slide 2: Explain the objectives of lesson. Slide 3: Teach the 3 key vocabulary words. Slide 4: Pass out KWL worksheet to students and ask them to fill in the K and W section.

GUIDED PRACTICE: Slide 5: Use the Commonsense Strategic Sheet worksheet and demonstrate each step with students. Slide 6: Explain the SEARCH acronym.

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE: Slide 7 and 8: Split class in teams and explain the mission.

WRAP-UP: Ask students to share the information they found. Encourage students to use these tips for their class research project.
