1 Pre-Requisites

Prerequisites (Scaffolding):

During the 1st marking period my students learned the months of the year along with a song to imprint this new knowledge. During the second marking period students learned about festivities and celebrations in Spanish speaking countries and in the USA. This unit will build upon their prior learning on the topics aforementioned and they will apply their knowledge through their creation of four Story Telling boards in Spanish. Furthermore, students will develop 21st century digital skills by creating their Photo Story using Educreations, a web base program.

Misconceptions: Students will show and tell about the weather, festivities, activities and clothing they wear per season in Spanish. We will address misconceptions about copyright, such as copying and downloading images from the web that are not “label for reuse” or copyrighted free.

2 Formative Assessment

Formative assessment:

Students will complete four story boards and they will self assess their projects base on a students generated rubric .  (This assessment matches objective #8)

Students will submit 4 storyboards with voice descriptions, in Spanish, on the images in each board per season. (This assessment matches objective #5 & 7)

Summative Assessment

Students will create a Spanish storytelling project about the seasons in the USA

1.1 Students will create a storytelling project in the target language. to demonstrate their speaking skills and what they know, and they will link their project to Edmodo for grading and feedback based on a rubric given to students. (This assessment matches objectives #1, #2, #3, #7, #8)
