1 Hook

Activity: Presenting

Students will view a "rap" video as an introduction to the lesson and to help students get an idea of what they will be learning about.

2 Direct Instruction

Activity: Presenting

Students will view the following videos to further explore the idea of verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs. After the videos they will work on teacher created examples to help them understand each part of speech.

3 Guided Practice

Activity: Other — Practice

Students will work on teacher created examples and go over them as a group. You can have pairs of students work on examples and then check as a whole group or have students individually try them and share as a whole group. This allows for students to work on understanding the concept before they go off on their own.

4 Independent Practice

Activity: Assessing

Students will log into http://www.grammaropolis.com/ and work on their skills using this site. I will have alread set up options for them to focus on that assess how well they understand the parts of speech we learned in class. This allows the students to practice their skills but in a different aspect.

5 Wrap-up

Activity: Other — Wrapping up

Students will view the following video as a fun way to wrap up this lesson. It reviews what they've learned and gives them a preview of what is ahead.
