1 Hook

Show a video or picture dealing with a stem-changing verb.  

(you can use the video and/or comic/illustration of your choice.

I will link the entire lesson to Edmodo.


2 Direct Instruction

I will upload the notes for Edmodo so students may take notes at their leisure.

3 Guided Practice

Activity: Other — written practice

I will have several practice activities for students to work on.  They will put their answers on the board and I will go over the answers.

4 Independent Practice

Free, Paid

After at the practice, students will work on the project/rubric that is on Edmodo.  They will create a Mnemonic Device book telling how each category of verb changes and how they will rember the change.  Students can use Prezi, Story Bird, Power Point, and any other sites to create their project.  If they do not have technology at home to work on this, they can create their book on paper.  The Mnemonic Device book must have illustrations.

5 Wrap-Up

Activity: Presenting

Students will present their books in class.  Students as well as myself will give 5 students feedback on their books.  They will use the grading rubric I use to grade the projects.
