Safe Computing Slideshow
1 The Hook-What's a digital footprint?
Teacher assigns students a slideshow in Google classroom. Each slide asks a question, and has a link to a video that will provide the answers.
Students download the file, and start watching the videos. If students have no laptops, the slideshow is redesigned here as a worksheet.
2 Direct Instruction-Lets start investigating
Teacher presents one Common Craft Video to model for the students.
They can talk about how simple the production value is, yet still effective and powerful.
Students can watch as a class each video, or they can watch them individually from the links on each slide.
3 Guided Practice-Here's what I think.
Teacher walks around the room assisting student who may have trouble. The teacher can also start the discussion after each video to help students create their responses.
Students write their answers and reflections on each slide.
4 Independent Practice-What do you think?
Teacher opens the Padlet screen to show students where their last response will go. Students can see each other's answers and build on their thoughts.
Student read their classmates reflections and add a reflection to the Padlet as an exit slip for the project.
5 Wrap Up-Boy, I need to change my ways.
Teacher reads some of the responses on the Padlet and initiates a class discussion.
Students respond to each other's reflections to further the discussion.
What will they do differently after watching these videos?
