Reading and Writing
I would use this activity to show the children a fun way to use creative words. I would explain to them how important descriptive words are and would allow them to create their own wordle about themselves. After doing this I would allow them to print it off and put it up in the classroom.
2 Direct Instruction
I would then move on to introduce noodle tools. This will allow them to organize their thoughts and work with me online. We would have to go over how to use it because it is very important they understand how to use this new tool. It will also allow them to put in information for each chapter of each book they read so that it is easier to track later on for quizzes and such.
3 Guided Practice
I would continue working on noodle tools to let the children do a mock example so that they can work with the new tool and ask any questions they may have. Doing a couple mock examples going from an easy example to a hard one will allow the student to fully understand the new material.
4 Independent Practice
Quizlet will allow my students to make notecards and quiz themselves before any chapter quiz. Once they organize their thoughts they can make notecards on quizlet to provide extra practice/ review at home.
For homework, I would assign a new reading so that the children would have new material to enter into these new tools.
