1 Interactive discussion
When learning about the movement of tectonic plates, Google Earth is displayed on the interactive whiteboard. The first images are of the different plate boundaries. Students are asked about the different ways tectonic plates move at each of the boundaries. Based on the images students are asked to predict where they will see different landforms such as volcanoes. Another Google Earth website is displayed that shows the location of volcanoes around the world. Students are asked if there is any significance about the location of many of the volcanoes. This drives the discussion around volcanoes and plate boundaries.
