The teacher will begin by asking the students what they know about plants.
2 Direct Instruction
The teacher will ask the class if they can name the four things a plant needs to grow. He/she will next ask the class if they can name the six plant parts. The teacher will have a Prezi up with a plant and labels for all six parts.
3 Guided Practice
The teacher will take the students outside to look for plant parts and evidence of the four things they need to grow.
4 Independent Practice
The students will draw some of the plants they find outside and will label the plant parts on their own or in small groups.
5 Wrap Up
The class will have a discussion about some of the plants they found and what parts of the plants they saw. They can give an example by holding up their labeled pictures.
