Students will watch BrainpopJr- Parts of a Plant (this will introduce the plant part names: roots, stems, leaves, flower). After watching, Students will say plant part names and use body motions as they do so.
2 Whole Group Instruction
Students will watch Discovery Education Streaming aka United Streaming “Plant Parts” Students will discuss the function/purpose of each plant part. Group practice activity will be modeled and explained.
3 Group Practice
Students will work in pairs to sort then match plant partspictures to their name. Smartboard will display a labeled plant for students to use as a self check.
4 Independent Practice
Students will create a plant part mini book.
5 Closing Activities/Summary
Students will use labeled plant to review plant parts & their names. If time permits students will watch Brainpopjr- Parts of a Plant again.
