Planning the Perfect Lesson
I like to start planning new lessons and units by seeing what other educators are doing in the classroom. I use the Better Lesson website to begin gettting great ideas for my new lesson or unit.
2 Perfect the Method
After coming up with the perfect idea for my lesson, I like to head over to Teaching Channel to see if any videos have been created showing the teaching methods I plan on using. These videos can be a great help to get an idea of what my classroom might look like during the lesson.
3 Create the Assessment
MasteryConnect is a fantastic website to create multiple choice assessments to quickly determine whether students are mastering the concept. MasteryConnect allows users to choose the standards they want to assess, create an assessment, and grade quickly and seamlessly. Simply hold the answer sheet in front of your computer and the computer camera will snap a picture and the assessment will be graded. Students are then color coded into three categories: remidial, near mastery, and mastery. It's a great way to see how your students are doing.
4 Finish Up
Engrade is a great grading tool to wrap up your lesson. Use it to put in your final grades.
