- Prior to the lesson create a new account for each student in the Speech Journal application and an archive of images for students to select from (consider doing this after a field trip and loading pictures from the trip into the archive image folder)
Begin the lesson by projecting an image on the board and ask students to take turns telling you what they see or what they think the story behind the picture is.
Explain to students that today’s lesson objective is for them to create a story or describe a picture using the iPad application Speech Journal. Tell students that you have created an account for each of them.
2 Guided Practice
Pass out iPads to each student and model how to log in and choose a picture from the archive you created. Then model how to create a voice recording.
3 Independent Practice
Have students practice creating their own speech journals
Have students share their journals
