1 Get to know how well your students know Google Slides

The teacher has assigned a Google Slide on Google Classroom. Each student will be assigned their own. The teacher will assist students who are not comfortable with signing into their Google Classroom, students are new to signing into their new accounts.

Student Instructions

Students will log into their Google Classroom accounts, enter their classroom and complete the "Do Now" that is posted for the particular class period. "Do Now" - On a scale from 1-10, 10 being the best, how well do you know how to use Google Slides? Have you ever heard of Google Slides? What have you used it for?

2 Create a Google Slide with Simile

On a separate screen the teacher will show lower students or ELLs how to maneuver through Google Slides. ELLs will be given translated worksheets with definitions with terms that they will see on Google Slides.

Student Instructions

Students will open up their Google Slide that was assigned. Students will use their simile on their digital lives as their title. Students will include various pictures relevant to their digital lives as well as using animation, transition, font color and font style.

3 Reflecting on Google Slides

Padlet

Students will reflect on their use of Google Slides. The students should respond to the following questions on Padlet.  "Has your answer to the Do Now changed? Why? What did you learn about Google Slides? How do you feel when using Google Slides?"
