Activity One:  Students will be able to identify the four main sections of a popular song (Verse, Chorus, Pre-Chorus, and Bridge) as well as the 3 sub-sections (Introduction, Interlude, Coda)

1 Step One...Relate to what students already know.


Students will define and understand the various sections of basic (pop) song form.  Students will be asked to listen to a piece of music and identify the 4 major sections and the 3 possible sub-sections. Students will be led through a guided listening with a sheet to complete as they listen.  The educator will use Powerpoint (Keynote) to have them see where each section begins and ends. There are ten sections in both listening examples. (iTunes is also used but not available as an app in the app flow)
