Objectives

Students will be able to.. listen, speak about and understand cooking expressions, food, appliances, follow a recipe and give directions that apply to being in the kitchen."  Students can say the kitchen vocabulary related to preparing and cooking a meal.

1 ¿Cuál es una comida de tu herencia?

Students answer the question reflecting on what is a heritage food from their background.  The teacher has and account at mentimeter.com and posts question.  The answers come out in form of a wordle.

Student Instructions

Log onto menti.com and load code.  Answer question.

2 Citas Rápidas - Vocabulary Review

Teacher shows prepared Google Slides to generate questions and conversations as students move around the classroom to review vocabulary for cooking preparation and recipe writing in Spanish.

Student Instructions

Students take picture with phone/ipad of questions.  Students circulate around the room answering questions on changing google slides.

3 Writing Recipe

Teacher gives students a box of different food manipulatives.  Students are instructed to log on to Padlet, write title of recipe that their group (generated by random Team Generator) has invented.

Student Instructions

Students divide into groups as seen on the team generator.  They log onto Padlet.com and enter teacher password and begin posting recipe and steps that they have concluded can be made from their manipulatives.

4 Student self assessment

Teacher inputs a self-Assessment poll on menti.com for students to answer.

5 Wrap up- provide further learning

Students are assigned "Quizizz" for homework to answer questions on food preparation and recipe writing
