Students will be able to.access the library databases and conduct academic research.

The students will retrieve 3 academic, peer-reviewed journal articles on a specific subject.

Students will learn how to use the tools to format a citation in MLA format and export the citation to a works cited page.

1 1. Guided Practice. Students will access the library databases from their iPads using the Gale "Access My School" app. Students will participate in a guided search.

Activity: Other — Gale Access My School Library App

Instruction will provide information on how to access the library databases; from a school computer, an iPad, or remotely. A guided search will demonstrate how to search the databases on a specific topiic and limit that search to locate peer-reviewed journal articles and additional scholarly works appropriate for academic research.

2 Independent Practice

Students will be given a specific subject to research. Student's will practice searching the databases for information on their topic and using the appropriate fields to limit their research. Each student will select three articles, use the citation tool to format the citation and export the citation to create a Works Cited page.
