1 Hook

Activity: Broadcasting

I will use a YouTube video to introduce and get the students motivated for learning letters and sounds:

Students will engage in learning the alphabet by singing and moving along with the interactive video.

Activity: Presenting

Students will practice reciting the letters and sounds using picture cards from the Scott Foresman Reading Series.

"Say the sound. Say the letter."

"What is the first sound in apple? Say the letter."

"Name something that begins with Aa."

 

Student Instructions

Students use choral response to say sounds and letters. Check for learning by taking individual turns.

Activity: Broadcasting

Students will practice writing capital and lower case letters of the alphabet by watching a YouTube video titled: Learn to Write Alphabet and also writing on dry-erase boards.

Students will watch interactive video and practice writing the letters of the alphabet on dry-erase boards.

Activity: Other — handwriting

Students will practice writing upper and lower case letters of the alphabet using paper and pencil.

Student Instructions

Students will practice wiritng upper and lower case letters of the alphabet using paper and pencil.

Students will form letters correctly using the top, dotted, and bottom lines.

5 wrap-up

Activity: Broadcasting

Students will wrap-up with YouTube video: ABC Phonics.
