1 HOOK

Have students answer the following question on Padlet: What are some things that you can do to prepare for an upcoming job interview?

Student Instructions

Follow the link to today's Padlet and answer the following question: What are some things that you can do to prepare for an upcoming job interview?  Be prepared to share with the class.

2 Direct Instruction

Teacher: show the videos and have student practice handshakes.  Have students read the articles provided and have a brief discussion regarding the content.

Student Instructions

View the video with the class, then read the two attached articles.  Engage in class discussion.

3 GUIDED PRACTICE

Activity: Conversing

Students will take turns asking one another common job interview questions in groups of two.  

Student Instructions

Get with your assigned partner and take turns doing mock interviews.  Be prepared to give constructive feedback to your partner.

4 INDEPENDENT PRACTICE

Have half of the students create a short 3 minute video on a job interview gone well, and the other half a video of an interview gone wrong.

Student Instructions

Create a 3 minute video on either a job interview gone well, or a job interview gone wrong (depending on which you are assigned).  Be prepared to share with the class.

 

NOTE: Please use professional language in the video.
