We will create time using a clocks. I will give you a time and you put it on your clock, then I will put a time on my clock and you tell me what time it is.
2 Direct Instruction
There is a big clock on the floor: I will choose two students to lay on their backs and you will tell me what time it is; then the students will chose their own numbers to lay at and the other students will have to say what time it is.
3 Guided practice
Now we will do this activity together. You lay at 6 and you lay at 9 with your hand up. What time is it? Now you pick where to lay. Class, what time is it?
4 Independent Practice
Now take turns making up times on your own. I will be over here watching. I will help if you need it.
Now who thinks they can tell time now? Great!! we will keep doing this for about an hour a day for the rest of the week. But for now lets sit at our desks with our clocks so we can do some more time.
