Assessments

Use the word splash to connect words that are related and then write how these words are related and how you are responsible for them.

Students will work on a word related trying to connect words that they think are related and then write how thee words are related and how we are responsible for them. Students will then be assessment the knowledge and also the self management skills because they will reflect their responsibility towards these words (that are related to the unit)

1 Hook

Teacher will send the students on Handout different documents to explore: skeletal system, labelling organs, discovering a torso and give their function.

Create a padlet wall for students  to use and do the visible thinking routine on padlet: what they found to and what they want to find out. 

 

2 Direct Instruction

Students will collect information by watching brainpop jr https://jr.brainpop.com/health/food/eatingright/

Students will read different informational articles on body organs that was shared by the teacher on handout.

This activity can be a group work on the interactive board or 1:1 activity using the computer lab. You would like to use the activities of the lesson if necessaryto reinforce the ideas. 

 

3 Guided Practice

Students will work with some interactive sites to understand the placement of some organs. http://sciencenetlinks.com/interactives/systems.html

Students will do that alone, they discover and try things out. very interactive website and kids friendly.

Students will have to write about it using handout and teacher send her feedback

 

4 Independence practice

5 Wrap up
