1 Hook

Activity: Presenting

Students will watch a short video clip introducing what this lesson will be on. They will get an idea of where they are with this topic and what they can expect.

2 Direct Instruction

Activity: Exploring

As a large group the teacher will create a KWL chart focusing on what they know and what they want to know. Students are required to copy the chart into their notes for use later. After the discussion has taken place students will view a video on these topics. After the video the whole class will work on filling the part of the chart as to what they have learned. During this time the teacher can help eliminate any misconceptions the students may have.

3 Independent Practice

Activity: Investigating

Students will split into small groups and work on the following experiment on this site

The teacher should walk the students through the experiment before hand so they understand exactly what they need to do and what is expected of them.

4 Wrap up

Activity: Assessing

Students will present and discuss the findings of the experiment they just did. During this time the teacher can assess what students understood the material and process and see who needs some extra support still.
