Global Awareness Campaign
The students will be able to discover an global issue and determine if an awareness campaign for that already exists. Determine what is the most efficient and quickest way to get information out to other people. What applications are you using to search this campaign?
By using Twitter the students will learn what different hashtags mean and how to determie if something is trending. They will use pinterset to discover diffent visual campaigns to see what is working and being repinned. They will use Popplet to create a mind map that allows for them to organize their thoughts and keep track of notes that they can continously add to.
Students will survey others and gather information about the topic of their choosing. They will use this information to compare results and prepare a presentation.
Students will use Google Earth to locate the area(s) where their issues are taking place. I always find it shocking when students do not know where places are located! Students will keep track of notes and assignments in their Google Drive. Students will use Quizlet to test their knowledge of what they have learned so far and they will use it to test the knowledge of other students.
The students will discuss and compare their results using presentation applications. The students will then brainstorm ways in which they can take thier information to infor others of their global awareness campaign.
The students will apply their findings and come up with a solution. This will either be a pay it forward model (think Ice Bucket Challenge) or an advertising based awareness campaign. They will encourage people to DO something, or they will get peoples attention by making them LOOK at something.
