1 Hook

I have created a webmix called platforms. Students select one of the plaforms to direct their topic.

The platforms I created are:

Culture, News, Edtech, Movies, Leisure, Food and Sports.


These "platforms" are just articles to be read and used through out the activity.

2 Direct Instruction

Study Up is an Apple and Droid app that allows students to take notes and jot down ideas while reading.

3 Guided Practice

Students will use Evernote to pick out two interesting points about the passage they have read. Students will share notes with teacher to monitor focus and direction. For a challenge, students are asked to list websites with credible research related to topic. Students can write down questions that need research or clarification. 

4 Independent Practice

Students will collaborate on how their topic looked like/or will look like 100 years ago or 100 years in future.  time. Format and content will be outlined and approved by teacher before starting. Documents will be shared with teacher so that formative and observative assessment can be conducted at anyStudents will give support and graphics as well as insight from reading and processing the information.

5 Wrap-Up

Students will present topic with interesting facts and inferences/predictions on topic from previous activity. Students will submit via class and present to whole class for final grade.
