Students create a passport so they can explore without leaving the classroom.  


Locating Australia and discuss the geographic location and weather conditions.

2 Direct Instruction

Video and discussion comparing culture and social patterns of Australia.

Explain how music, art, belief system and cultural elements can impact global understanding.  

Explore how Australia is home to animals such as platypus, kangaroo, and koala.



3 Guided Practice

Utilize explain everything to import a map and list informative information concerning culture, art, food, and weather.  The information must expand or vary from class discussion.

Digging deeper by finding books concerning Australia.
