1 Hook

Activity: Reading

Read a book that has a specific emphasis on phonics such as Dr. Seuss or Secret Stories.

2 Direct Instruction

Free, Paid

Using a prezi to discuss the big "Pizza" of the first 44 basic letter sounds. Depending on what students are learning, explain that the class will be eating just one piece of the pizza for the current lesson and 'zoom' into the specific phonemic sound the class will be working with.

3 Guided Practice

Fun activities for students to practice what has been covered either individually or in pairs to compete against one another.

4 Independent Practice
