Flat Wayne on Instagram and Facebook
Teacher will direct the children around the school in and outside to photograph them with their Flat Wayne they have created. We will go to the cafeteria, play area, gymnasium, art and music rooms, and our classroom to take the photos with out Flat Wayne cutouts.
Children will bring their Flat Wayne around the school to be photographed at different locations.
2 Direct Instruction
Teacher will show the children what it looks like to upload the photos we just took of us and our Flat Wayne cutouts to our classroom Instagram and Facebook pages. We will discuss what we can say to go along with these posts as well. Instagram will be for us and the participating classrooms to keep tabs on Flat Wayne and his journey. Facebook will be to keep parents up to date on Flat Wayne's journey and what we're doing with him in our classroom.
3 Guided Practice
Teacher will ask two children to take 4 photos of their Flat Wayne around our classroom in the designated areas to demonstrate for the other kids. They will then airdrop their photos to my iPad so we can upload them to our social media pages if we choose to.
Two children will demonstrate for the rest of the class. This activity will be their independent practice portion of the lesson.
4 Independent Practice
Teacher will observe as children take their photos around the classroom.
The children will find the four designated places, take their photos with Flat Wayne and then airdrop them to the teacher iPad to possibly be uploaded onto the Instagram or Facebook social media pages by the teacher.
5 Wrap Up
Teacher will upload a few of the photos taken by the children to the social media sites for the kids to see.
